VDH reports 1,245 new COVID-19 cases, 76 new hospitalizations as of Tuesday

RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 1,245 new coronavirus cases and 36 new virus-related deaths on Tuesday, which brings the Commonwealth’s total COVID-19 count up to 929,244 confirmed and probable cases and 14,020 confirmed and probable deaths.

Virginia health officials confirmed 690,185 cases and 11,769 deaths are related to the virus as of Tuesday, Nov. 2. However, 239,059 cases and 2,251 deaths are still reported as “probable.”

Meanwhile, the department says the seven-day testing positivity rate has stayed at 5.5 percent over the past 24 hours.

Health officials reported 1,245 new COVID-19 cases, 76 new virus-related hospitalizations, and 36 new virus-related deaths around the Commonwealth between Nov. 1, 2021 and Nov. 2, 2021.

According to VDH’s Tuesday tally, more than 143,000 cases have been reported from the following localities in southwest and central Virginia:

  • Alleghany County: 2,136 cases, 84 hospitalizations, and 78 deaths
  • Amherst County: 4,364 cases, 223 hospitalizations, and 57 deaths
  • Appomattox County: 2,408 cases, 118 hospitalizations, and 36 deaths
  • Bath County: 491 cases, 20 hospitalizations, and 15 deaths
  • Bedford County: 9,983 cases, 393 hospitalizations, and 153 deaths
  • Bland County: 1,080 cases, 48 hospitalizations, and 17 deaths
  • Botetourt County: 3,924 cases, 95 hospitalizations, and 50 deaths
  • Buena Vista: 1,332 cases, 30 hospitalizations, and 27 deaths
  • Campbell County: 7,223 cases355 hospitalizations, and 139 deaths
  • Carroll County: 3,989 cases303 hospitalizations, and 95 deaths
  • Charlotte County: 1,289 cases, 77 hospitalizations, and 27 deaths
  • Covington: 761 cases, 33 hospitalizations, and 16 deaths
  • Craig County: 551 cases, 21 hospitalizations, and 8 deaths
  • Danville: 6,254 cases (-4), 359 hospitalizationsand 193 deaths
  • Floyd County: 1,449 cases, 47 hospitalizations, and 29 deaths
  • Franklin County: 6,071 cases, 251 hospitalizations, and 106 deaths
  • Galax: 1,537 cases, 122 hospitalizations, and 62 deaths

  • Grayson County: 2,105 cases, 134 hospitalizations, and 46 deaths
  • Halifax County: 3,934 cases, 176 hospitalizations (-1), and 107 deaths

  • Patrick County: 2,073 cases, 133 hospitalizations, and 55 deaths
  • Pittsylvania County: 8,191 cases, 356 hospitalizations, and 117 deaths
  • Pulaski County: 4,183 cases, 196 hospitalizations, and 88 deaths
  • Radford: 2,936 cases, 48 hospitalizations, and 33 deaths
  • Roanoke City: 12,179 cases, 316 hospitalizations, and 241 deaths
  • Roanoke County: 12,010 cases, 262 hospitalizations (-2), and 176 deaths (-1)
  • Rockbridge County: 2,147 cases75 hospitalizations, and 58 deaths
  • Salem: 3,498 cases, 95 hospitalizations, and 61 deaths
  • Wythe County: 4,534 cases, 255 hospitalizations, and 102 deaths

The department has reportedly received 38,928 total records of confirmed and probable virus-related hospitalizations around Virginia as of Tuesday, which is 76 more hospitalizations than VDH reported on Monday.
