Two Jefferson Forest High football games canceled due to coronavirus concerns

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Concerns about the coronavirus have led to the disruption of another high school football program in southwest Virginia.

A representative from Bedford County Public Schools told WFXR News that people associated with the Jefferson Forest High School football team were exposed to a person who tested positive for the coronavirus.

As a result, the varsity football game that was supposed to take place on Friday, March 5 at Liberty Christian Academy has been canceled, following quarantine guidance from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH).

In addition, school officials decided to cancel the junior varsity game against LCA scheduled for Monday, March 8.

All football practices have also been suspended temporarily.
