Two Amherst County schools to operate remotely Friday due to high COVID cases

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Amherst County Public Schools announced Thursday that two of its schools will be operating remotely on Friday due to the number of COVID-19 cases.

Due to the amount of the COVID-19 cases, Amherst County High School (ACHS) and Elon Elementary School (EES) will switch to remote learning for Friday, Jan. 14.

ACHS and EES students will not report to school but will be expected to participate in remote learning.

Meals will be made available for pick up at any Amherst County school.
