Science Museum of Western Virginia closing due to positive coronavirus case

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Science Museum of Western Virginia will be closing its doors in downtown Roanoke until further notice after an employee tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to the museum’s Facebook post from Thursday, Sept. 2, a member of the administrative staff was diagnosed with the virus.

In order to protect the museum’s other employees and guests, the museum will close down and undergo a thorough sanitation and cleaning.

There is no word on when this Roanoke science museum will reopen.
