UPDATE: Restocked COVID at-home test kits gone at Roanoke-area libraries; more tests expected soon

UPDATE 10:13 p.m.: WFXR News has learned that all of the COVID-19 tests Roanoke area libraries had have been depleted.

The tests were all handed out in a matter of hours on Monday, Jan. 10.

A new shipment of 3,000 tests will arrive soon.

WFXR News will let you know when those new tests arrive.


ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke Public Libraries have restocked their supply of COVID-19 rapid antigen at-home test kits.

Starting Monday, Jan. 10, all six branches of Roanoke Public Libraries will be distributing the kits again during regular business hours. The library system reminds community members there is a limited supply of these free test kits.

The libraries will distribute each at-home test kit curbside and those picking up the test must wear a face mask. A family member or friend can pick up a test kit for you if you are experiencing signs and symptoms of COVID-19.
