Roanoke cleaning company gets new equipment to disinfect, deep clean against COVID-19

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR News) – In an effort to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus, one commercial cleaning company has a new process to help disinfect buildings and spaces.

The crew from Diversified Building Services has new disinfecting machine works.

“We want to take care of it before people actually get the COVID-19.” said Director of Operations Kevin Devine.

The machine sprays a cleaning solution 360 degrees around the room. The mist wraps around all the surfaces to disinfect.

Devine says it takes the chemicals about 10 minutes to dry, and they ask people to stay away for about 30 minutes to be safe.

“It’s been pretty much non-stop every day we’ve been doing some work,” said Devine.

The past week since they’ve started the company has already disinfected about half a million square feet.

Devine says they have existing customers asking them to come as a precautionary measure and they’ve been called to clean places that have had a confirmed exposure to the virus.

“If you have had an individual that has a family member that has had COVID-19 or a work associate who has had it, then you need to treat it like it is live virus and our goal there is to knock it out and destroy the virus.”

They also have a list of businesses that would like them to come and clean them before they re-open to the public.

“We want to welcome them back in and let them know that they’re in a safe enivornment and that the owners of that establishment have gone through the expense of creating a safe enviornment for everyone to return to.”

Some of their clients include office spaces, long term health care facilities, churches, school and large construction sites.
