Roanoke City, Alleghany Health Districts say COVID-19 vaccine supply is running too low to serve all who qualify to receive vaccine

(WFXR) — Last week, Gov. Ralph Northam said the state is entering Phase 1b of the coronavirus vaccination plan and the Commonwealth was modifying the vaccine protocols to meet new guidelines from the CDC.

These new guidelines include anyone age 16-64 who has a serious underlying medical condition is eligible for the vaccine.

However, representatives from the Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts say they do not have the vaccine supply to give those additional people who now qualify.

Health leaders say they are working on getting those doses and will let the public know when they become available.
