MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Pre-registration is now open for Phase 1b of coronavirus vaccination for residents of Franklin, Henry, and Patrick counties, as well as Martinsville.

Starting Monday, Jan. 25, people in group 1b who live within the West Piedmont Health District are able to sign up to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, health officials say.

Even though electronic pre-registration is preferred, health officials say paper copies will be available at the health departments in Rocky Mount, Martinsville, and Stuart, as well as public libraries, municipal buildings, and chambers of commerce at Smith Mountain Lake and Martinsville.

As soon as vaccines are available, the health district says it will contact those who sign up individually so they can set up an appointment. In addition, the West Piedmont Health District — or one of its partners — plans on holding at least one mass vaccination event, which will be announced on the health district’s website or social media once scheduled.
