FLOYD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Floyd County Public Schools announced Monday that a person associated with the school district has been diagnosed with the coronavirus.

However, as of Monday, Oct. 19, school officials say the person has not been on Floyd County Public Schools premises for the last six days.

In addition, based on the New River Health District’s investigation, the school district says the virus was not contracted at the schools, which did not experience any high-risk exposures.

Therefore, all Floyd County public schools will remain open at this time, according to Monday’s announcement.
