(WFXR) – Three COVID-19 vaccine clinics have been scheduled in our region this week.
The first takes place at the Maury River Senior Center at 2137 Magnolia Avenue in Buena Vista between noon and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19.
This clinic will dispense the Moderna vaccine.
Everyone participating must be over the age of 18 as the Moderna vaccine has not yet been approved by the CDC.
While walk-ins are welcome, you are asked to pre-register by clicking here or calling or texting (540) 464-8700.
Also, a vaccine clinic will be held Wednesday afternoon in Lynchburg.
This clinic will be exclusively for students with Lynchburg City Schools who are between the age of 12-18.
The clinic will run between 4 and 7 p.m. at the Candlers Station Shopping Center at 3700 Candlers Mountain Road.
Prior to the vaccination, parents will need to schedule an appointment by clicking here.
Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian with a photo ID. If students are age 18 or older, they do not need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
A consent form will also need to be filled out by a parent or guardian.
Students receiving the vaccine (Pfizer) are being asked to wear clothing suitable for a shot in the arm in a public space.
Future second doses will be scheduled on-site, approximately three weeks from the date of the first dose (June 9).
Plus, a COVID-19 vaccine event will be held at First Baptist Church in Lexington, located at 103 North Main Street between 2 and 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 20.
The clinic will dispense the Moderna vaccine.
Everyone who expects to receive a shot must be over the age of 18.
