RADFORD, Va. (WFXR) — If you received your first dose of the Moderna vaccine in January but missed your second dose because of last week’s winter storms, you’re in luck because the New River Health District has organized a special “Second Dose Clinic” in Radford for Saturday.

The health district says the clinic — which will only offer the Moderna vaccine — will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27 at the Dedmon Center in Radford.

According to health officials, the clinic is open to anyone who received a first dose of the Moderna vaccine on or before Jan. 29 at Blue Ridge Church; any local health department in the New River Health District, which includes the City of Radford as well as Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, and Pulaski counties; or any New River Health District community partners, such as locally-owned and run pharmacies, private practitioners, etc.

You are asked to bring your vaccination card, a form of identification, and a face covering to the vaccination site. Those who have misplaced their card can wait at the site to have their vaccine information confirmed, and receive a replacement card.

A completed vaccination form will also be required to receive the second dose at this clinic. To download and complete the form in advance, click here.

Parking will be on the river side of the parking lot. Signs will be posted to direct those attending where to go.

Those traveling to the clinic from Christiansburg should note that a portion of Radford Street at the intersection of Badger Street will be closed in both directions around 11 a.m. That closure should last approximately 30 minutes.

For those eligible for the second dose but cannot attend this clinic, the New River Health District is continuing to offer second doses each weekday between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Church in Christiansburg. No appointment is needed for these events, but you are asked to bring a photo ID and your CDC vaccination card to Blue Ridge Church.

If you have any questions, contact the Vaccination Call Center at (540) 838-8222.
