Expanded appointments begin at Virginia DMVs; no plans for walk-ins to resume

Coronavirus

RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) – DMV offices across the Commonwealth have begun holding new expanded appointments, meaning more windows will open at DMV centers.

The change began on Tuesday, June 1.

Even though capacity and social distancing restrictions have been lifted, the DMV does not have plans to resume walk-ins any time soon.

When you arrive for your appointment, fully-vaccinated Virginians do not have to wear a mask.

The DMV says they will be relying on the “honor system.”

Additional appointments are scheduled to be added in stages beginning on June 15 as staff increases at DMV locations across Virginia.
