(WFXR) — The Central Virginia Health District — in coordination with Timberlake Health and Wellness Pharmacy — plans to offer two mobile vaccination clinics over the course of two days in order to protect members of the Lynchburg and Bedford County communities from the coronavirus.
According to the health district, these two mobile clinics are follow-up events for people who received their first vaccine dose at these locations, but those seeking a first dose, second dose, or booster dose are also welcome.
For the mobile events below — which are open to the public — health officials say residents will be able to choose the Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccine:
- Friday, Dec. 3 from 3 to 7 p.m. at 2007 Memorial Avenue (Delta Response Team) in Lynchburg
- Sponsored by the Lynchburg Lifesaving Crew and Delta Response Team.
- Saturday, Dec. 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. at 1820 East Lynchburg Salem Turnpike (Lowe’s Home Improvement) in Bedford
- Sponsored by Lowe’s Home Improvement in coordination with Bedford Fire and Rescue
Appointments are not required for these events. However, if you have already received at least one dose of the vaccine, you are asked to bring your vaccination card with you.
Even though the coronavirus vaccine for kids ages 5 to 11 will not be available at these mobile sites, health officials still encourage parents to check with their pediatricians or search for participating retail pharmacies by visiting vaccinate.virginia.gov or calling 877-VAX-IN-VA (877-829-4682).
The Lynchburg Department of Health also offers COVID-19 vaccinations, but only if you call 434-477-5974 to schedule an appointment.
