Coronavirus

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Carilion Clinic says they will be requiring all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by Jan. 4, 2022.

The requirement is meant to comply with the federal mandate which requires healthcare works who participate in the Medicare and Medicaid program to be vaccinated.

In a statement to WFXR News, a Carilion Clinic spokesperson said the following:

“Like healthcare systems across the country, we are complying with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services mandate, which requires healthcare organizations to fully vaccinate their teams against COVID-19 as a term of employment by Jan. 4, 2022. Per CMS, there are exemptions available for religious or medical reasons.”
