BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – On Monday evening, Botetourt County Schools released a letter to parents and the community about Gov. Youngkin’s Executive Order allowing parents to decide whether or not their child should wear a mask while at school.
In the statement, the district says that they are awaiting further clarification from the Attorney General and the School Board Office to explain how this Executive Order will impact laws and guidance currently in place.
They say that they “will continue all current mitigation strategies when students return to school this week.”

Botetourt County Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Code 4, due to ongoing issues with Sunday’s winter storm.
