3 students at Maury River Middle School test positive for COVID-19; 48 total students at 2 schools in quarantine

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Rockbridge County Public Schools confirmed three students at Maury River Middle School have tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.

In a letter released online on Monday, Aug. 23, the district says that a total of 48 students from both Maury River Middle School and Rockbridge County High School are in quarantine.

School officials say they are working closely with the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) during the contact tracing efforts.

However, Rockbridge County Public Schools is not confirming the identities of those individuals who have tested positive or who are in quarantine.
