1,210 new coronavirus cases, 30 new deaths included in VDH’s Tuesday tally

RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) — The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported 1,210 new coronavirus cases and 30 new virus-related deaths on Tuesday morning, which brings the Commonwealth’s total COVID-19 count up to 947,271 confirmed and probable cases and 14,422 confirmed and probable deaths.

Virginia health officials confirmed 701,689 cases and 12,109 deaths are related to the virus as of Tuesday, Nov. 16. However, 245,582 cases and 2,313 deaths are still reported as “probable.”

Meanwhile, the department says the seven-day testing positivity rate has increased from 5.4 percent to 5.6 percent over the past 24 hours.

According to VDH’s Tuesday tally, more than 153,000 cases have been reported from the following localities in southwest and central Virginia:

  • Alleghany County: 2,200 cases (+2), 85 hospitalizations, and 82 deaths
  • Amherst County: 4,448 cases (+2), 230 hospitalizations, and 60 deaths
  • Appomattox County: 2,463 cases (+5), 121 hospitalizations, and 36 deaths
  • Bath County: 498 cases (-1), 20 hospitalizations, and 15 deaths
  • Bedford County: 10,193 cases (+17), 405 hospitalizations, and 162 deaths
  • Bland County: 1,111 cases (+1), 50 hospitalizations, and 17 deaths
  • Botetourt County: 4,041 cases (+12), 97 hospitalizations, and 54 deaths
  • Buena Vista: 1,382 cases, 32 hospitalizations, and 28 deaths
  • Campbell County: 7,408 cases (+13)361 hospitalizations (+1), and 144 deaths (+1)
  • Carroll County: 4,158 cases (+10), 310 hospitalizations, and 101 deaths
  • Charlotte County: 1,335 cases (+1), 78 hospitalizations, and 28 deaths (+1)
  • Covington: 770 cases (+3), 33 hospitalizations, and 18 deaths
  • Craig County: 583 cases (+4), 21 hospitalizations, and 9 deaths
  • Danville: 6,364 cases (+11), 361 hospitalizations, and 195 deaths
  • Floyd County: 1,488 cases (+2), 49 hospitalizations, and 31 deaths
  • Franklin County: 6,223 cases (+10), 263 hospitalizations (+1), and 108 deaths
  • Galax: 1,585 cases (+7), 126 hospitalizations, and 64 deaths
  • Giles County: 2,347 cases (+6), 90 hospitalizations (+1), and 32 deaths
  • Grayson County: 2,191 cases (+4), 139 hospitalizations, and 48 deaths
  • Halifax County: 4,018 cases (+10)178 hospitalizations (+1), and 110 deaths
  • Henry County: 6,791 cases (+13), 449 hospitalizations, and 169 deaths
  • Highland County: 188 cases, 2 hospitalizations, and 4 deaths
  • Lexington: 1,609 cases (+4), 37 hospitalizations, and 36 deaths
  • Lynchburg: 11,863 cases (-4), 480 hospitalizations (+1), and 193 deaths
  • Martinsville: 2,146 cases (+1), 183 hospitalizations, and 89 deaths
  • Montgomery County: 11,979 cases (+7), 257 hospitalizations, and 110 deaths
  • Nelson County: 1,410 cases (+1), 56 hospitalizations, and 19 deaths
  • Patrick County: 2,193 cases (+8), 135 hospitalizations, and 58 deaths
  • Pittsylvania County: 8,334 cases (+13), 365 hospitalizations (+2), and 127 deaths (+1)
  • Pulaski County: 4,274 cases (+6), 203 hospitalizations, and 92 deaths
  • Radford: 2,993 cases (+3), 48 hospitalizations, and 35 deaths
  • Roanoke City: 12,506 cases (+13), 324 hospitalizations, and 250 deaths
  • Roanoke County: 12,266 cases (+21), 268 hospitalizations (+1), and 181 deaths (+1)
  • Rockbridge County: 2,208 cases (+4), 77 hospitalizations, and 64 deaths
  • Salem: 3,597 cases (+7), 101 hospitalizations, and 64 deaths
  • Wythe County: 4,659 cases (+11), 263 hospitalizations, and 105 deaths

The department has reportedly received 39,516 total records of confirmed and probable virus-related hospitalizations around Virginia as of Tuesday, which is 27 more hospitalizations than VDH reported on Monday.
