ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts (RCAHD) addressed the community Wednesday morning after seeing their 1,000th death related to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as an increase in local virus cases and hospitalizations.
The RCAHD released its latest public health update — which includes data about the coronavirus — on Tuesday, May 24:
Meanwhile, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) reported a total of 20,358 virus-related deaths around the Commonwealth as of Wednesday, May 25, as well as 1,770,620 total COVID-19 cases and 51,415 total hospital admissions related to the virus. Of those total coronavirus counts, the VDH reported 10 new deaths and 3,488 new cases on Wednesday.
