Governor Northam announces new jobs, expansion in Henry County


HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Governor Ralph Northam announced Wednesday that British Columbia-based Teal-Jones Group is investing $21 million to expand sawmill and dry kiln operations at Pine Products, Inc. in Henry County.

The company also said that it would create 67 new jobs in Henry County.

Virginia successfully competed with sites in Oklahoma and Washington for the projects which will include new equipment and updates to its facilities.

Teal-Jones Group is committing to source 100-percent of its net new timber purchases from the Commonwealth, which is expected to top $100 million in the next four years.

“It’s just so exciting to be here today, this is an announcement… Teal – Jones is investing 21 million dollars in Henry County. Which will provide 67 new manufacturing jobs… I’m here on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia to make that announcement, but to also sincerely thank you Mr. Jones and your folks from your company for choosing Virginia.”
