Good News

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Thanks to a Rockbridge County school resource officer with an incredible singing voice, we now know the answer to a question that crosses many motorists’ minds: How do cops pass the time when they’re sitting on the side of the road?

Deputy Chris Norris with the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office posted a video of him singing an amazing rendition of “Over the Rainbow” on Facebook last week as a contribution to Rockbridge County High School’s virtual talent show.

In addition to showcasing his musical skills, Norris also shared a bittersweet message in his video.

Norris said this was his last week as a school resource officer for Rockbridge County High School before he transfers to Natural Bridge Elementary School, which is where his children go to school.

“I’m gonna miss you guys. I’ve known a lot of you since middle school,” said Norris. “You’ll still see me from time to time, I’ll stop by and pay you a visit, but for now, I guess I’m gonna have to tell you, bye bye.”
