Virginia infrastructure gets $43 million boost

Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine have announced $43 million in federal funds that will go toward affordable housing in Virginia. 

26 municipalities across the Commonwealth will receive parts of the award through the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Public Housing Capital Fund. 

The following counties in our area will receive federal funds to support their HUD programs: 

  • Danville: $1,120,996
  • Franklin County: $155,253
  • Lynchburg: $861,994
  • Roanoke: $3,425,178
  • Wytheville: $491,870

HUD’s Capital Fund offers necessary dollars to Public Housing Agencies for the development, financing, and modernization of public housing developments.
