A solar panel construction project has been given the green light in Halifax and Orange counties.
The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality issued permits allowing the construction of three solar panels.
Panels are expected to generate more than 200 megawatts combined, which is enough energy to power more than 25,000 homes.
“Renewable power like solar helps offset the effects of pollution produced by carbon-based fuels,” said Secretary of Natural Resources Matthew J. Strickler.
These three projects are expected to offset the creation of approximately 345,598,101 pounds of carbon dioxide.
