ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — In a classic tale of firefighter heroism, members of a Rockbridge County fire department saved a cat stuck in a tall tree at a campground on Wednesday.
The Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department says crews were requested to help the staff members at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Campground rescue an animal in distress on Wednesday, March 3.

According to the department, a ladder truck arrived and found a small cat stuck in a tree. However, within a few minutes, a firefighter carried that cat down to safety, fire officials say.
“Your VOLUNTEERS work hard to protect life and property in the community we serve,” the Glasgow Volunteer Fire Department posted on Facebook on Thursday, March 4. “#everylifematters.”
