BUCHANAN, Va. (WFXR) – One local young man hopes to raise enough peanut butter for a bunch of sandwiches.

Well, the sandwiches may not be a requirement to use the peanut butter, but he had aspirations of collecting 1,500 jars of peanut butter by Sept. 1.

His effort began on Aug. 1 and as of this past weekend, he was around 100 jars shy of 2,000!

All of the peanut butter he raises will be donated to the Backpack Buddy Program to feed kids in his school.

If you are interested in donating, you can drop off jars of peanut butter at Mt. Joy RV Sales and Service or Northstar in Buchanan.
