RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) — Talk about a wonderful birthday present!
Laura McDaniel’s birthday will certainly be one to remember. First, her husband Travis took her out to dinner. Then, on the way home, they bought some scratcher tickets from the Virginia Lottery.
One of those tickets ended up winning $777,777.
The couple from Bassett was driving home from dinner in Danville when they stopped at Corner Market on the Martinsville Highway in Danville.
Later, when they got home, Laura scratched the Lucky 7s Multiplier ticket and discovered that it was a top prize winner.
This is the fourth and final top-prize winning ticket in the Lucky 7s Multiplier which means the game has officially been closed.
It is the policy of the Virginia Lottery that after all of the top prizes are claimed, the game is closed.
Laura says they intend to stay humble and not let the money change them.
