Brookneal community comes together for Saturday food giveaway

BROOKNEAL, Va. (WFXR) – On Saturday, Sept. 12, the community of Brookneal is coming together to give away food and supplies to those in need.

The event will take place at the Green Spring Baptist Church at 103 Green Spring Baptist Lane in Brookneal between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Multiple truckloads of frozen meals, fresh produce, hand wipes, toys and more will be set up at stations located at the church.

“It’s people working together as a community effort. It’s been a hard year on a lot of people; many are in need. It’s amazing what we can accomplish if we work together.”

This is all be made possible through a partnership with Gleaning for the World, BEAM, Puzzled and Foster Fuels.
