ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — The Berglund Center has partnered with Carilion Children’s Hospital to host a public ice skating session where skate rental fees will be waived for anyone who donates a toy.
Skaters will still have to pay a six dollar admissions fee at the Berglund Center. However, from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, anyone who brings a new and unwrapped toy for Carilion patients will be able to rent skates for free.
Whether that toy is a stuffed animal, an action figure, a board game, or even a coloring book, it can still bring some holiday joy to a child in the hospital.
