BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Thanks to Botetourt County deputies spending nearly three months as “the Fuzzy ‘Fuzz,'” the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital was able to receive a check for $3,260 this week.
According to the Botetourt County Sheriff’s Office, from Oct. 1 through Dec. 31, 2020, deputies grew out their beards in order to raise money for the hospital.
Thanks to the deputies’ participation and donations, the sheriff’s office says they raised $2,810 for St. Jude’s, as well as an extra $450 from citizens who contributed to the cause.
