Barbers offer free haircuts at the Roanoke Rescue Mission

Good News

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Two professional barbers volunteered part of their Monday to put smiles on the faces of dozens of people in Roanoke, giving them much-needed haircuts for free.

The Rescue Mission of Roanoke hosted the event, saying this is something they do often in order to help boost confidence in those less fortunate.

One of the barbers says he knows firsthand what it’s like to struggle.

“There have been times that I’ve come up here and all I’ve had on me was enough gas money to get up here and get back home and I still came to do it. I just believe that if you have it in you to give, then give every time and it’s going to come back to you ten times over,” said barber Jamar Titus.

If any other professionally-trained barbers are interested in giving back, you are encouraged to give the rescue mission a call at 540-343-7227.
