AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Here’s a story sure to touch your heart.
On Friday, Jan. 8, Deputy S.W. Martin of the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a report of a stolen vehicle from Madison Heights.
While speaking to the family who owned the vehicle, Martin found out that there were recently-purchased gifts for the family’s daughter, Alyza, who was turning two-years-old on Saturday, Jan. 9.
The family was able to replenish those gifts, but touched by the story, Martin went out of his way to purchase an extra gift for Alyza on his own.
Alyza and her family stopped by the sheriff’s office on Monday, Jan. 11, to pick up the gift.
The stolen vehicle was ultimately located out-of-state.
