DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — God’s Pit Crew is launching a crisis response team to Oklahoma.

In May, Moffett, Oklahoma was hit by major flooding when the Arkansas River rose over 40-feet, which impacted the entire town.

Moffett was underwater for nine days.

Moffett School was severely damaged by the floods, and, after summer break started, teachers were called in to move classrooms to higher ground.

“We were called in to get everything off the floor and put it up on our desks and window sills. Water came in the classrooms five to eight feet deep in almost every room, in every room actually,” said Stacey Bram, who teaches fifth through eighth grade at the school.

God’s Pit Crew will send a team in August to help rebuild the school. Estimated costs will exceed $250,000.
