Funeral set for 3-year-old girl found in New River

Funeral arrangements have been made for a 3-year-old girl whose body was found in the New River on Wednesday.

According to an obituary posted in Pulaski County’s The Patriot, visitation for family and friends of Josie Burleson will be held at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m.

She will be buried in the Hickman Cemetery in Pulaski County.

Josie Burleson’s body was found in the New River around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10. It was reported the girl wandered off around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The girl’s mother, Kimberly Dawn Moore and, mother’s boyfriend, Adrian Neil Puckett, were arrested and taken to New River Regional Jail. They have both been charged with felony child neglect and felony child endangerment.
