Franklin County issues Burn Ban


The Fire Marshall’s office of Franklin County has issued an Open Air Burn Ban effective at 9 am Saturday April 4th and will continue until further notice. The weather conditions along with the State of Emergency and Local Declaration of Emergency that the county is under with the COVID-19 pandemic prompted the issuance of the burn ban.

Open air burning is defined as the burning of any brush, grass, leaves or other vegetation of any other combustible material the is not contained in an approved container or commercially constructed device that has a metal mesh spark arresting screen in place.
