Former VP visits Virginia, key Democratic support absent

News

RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) – Former Vice President Joe Biden made a stop in Richmond Tuesday. Biden is currently the front-runner among Democratic presidential candidates, but the visit was without key support from members of his own party.

Governor Ralph Northam and the Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax were absent from the visit. Northam continues to try to recover from his yearbook scandal earlier this year and Fairfax is working to repair his image from accusations of sexual misconduct. The choice for both to stay away from Biden’s visit could wind up costing the presidential candidate money in the Commonwealth.

Biden was in Richmond to help raise money for his candidacy. The event was not far from the Governor’s Mansion.
