SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE, Va. (WFXR) — Each Friday on “Good Day Virginia” is Foodie Friday; we highlight restaurants, chefs, and more throughout southwest Virginia.
As it gets warm, you can expect more than just flowers to start to blossom. Smith Mountain Lakes’ Restaurant Week is back for the third year in a row featuring restaurants that will participate in breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert specials from April 17 through April 30.
Allen ‘Buddy’ Hancock of Buddy’s BBQ and Chef Bo Bernard of Rocky Mount Burger Company spoke with WFXR’s Hazelmarie Anderson in the Community Kitchen to discuss what the restaurants will be offering.
During this two-week period, foodies will have the chance to enjoy local area food, as well as, win gift cards to participating restaurants.
“We were extremely happy with the turnout last year and the many positive comments we had from both SML residents and visitors who enjoyed exploring our diverse restaurant scene,” said Erin Stanley, SMLRCC Membership Director and Events Manager. “The participating restaurants were also pleased, so we are eager to grow the event, even more, this year.”
