ROANOKE, Va (WFXR) — Each Friday on “Good Day Virginia” is Foodie Friday; we highlight restaurants, chefs, and more throughout southwest Virginia.

April 7th is National Beer Day, and for those who enjoy the frosty brew, there’s a variety of breweries in the area.

National Beer Day marks the end of Prohibition in the United States. President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Cullen-Harrison Act signed into law in 1933. Today, it’s become a celebration of the beers brewed in the U.S.

WFXR’s Hazelmarie Anderson spoke with Big Lick Brewing Company’s taproom manager, Donovan Reed, about their mission to bring locally sourced brews, how they collaborate with local businesses, and more!
