FLOYD, Va. (WFXR) — Music fans now know which band will replace CeeLo Green as the headline performer at FloydFest.

In a Facebook post, organizers announced “The String Cheese Incident” as the two night headliner for the music festival.

CeeLo Green was initially announced as the headliner, but was removed from the list of performers last Saturday, Nov. 2. His inclusion in the lineup faced backlash on social media due to a 2013 allegation of sexual assault of the recording artist.

In 2013, a woman accused Green of drugging her and having sex with her. Los Angeles prosecutors charged Green with giving the woman drugs, but decided not to file sexual assault charges, according to WFXR sister station KTLA.

Announcing Green’s removal from the lineup, FloydFest co-found Kris Hodges said, “When I booked CeeLo Green I had no knowledge of his past history outside of his incredible contributions to music. However, you have spoken, and I have listened.”
