FBI offering reward in 2017 Danville homicide

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — Two years after a Danville man’s homicide at a convenience store, the FBI is offering a $7,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect.

On Sept. 12, 2017, Tahir Mahmud was found dead of a gunshot wound at the Joy Food store located on the 500 block of Riverside Drive in Danville after a robbery.

The bureau said a slender male, wearing “unique” jeans was seen running from the store around the time of the robbery and homicide.

The FBI asks that anyone with information contact the Richmond FBI office at (804) 261-1044 to visit tips.fbi.gov. The bureau is offering a reward of $7,500 for information leading to an arrest for the robbery and killing of Mahmud.
