Emergency grants to fund hurricane-damaged National Parks in Virginia

RICHMOND, Va. (WFXR) – The National Park Service has announced more than $47 million in emergency grants to repair historic sites damaged by Hurricanes Florence and Michael in 2018.

Virginia will receive about $4.7 million in grants.

Currently, it’s not known what sites, in particular, will be restored with that money.

Senator Mark Warner said today that this funding will help preserve the Commonwealth’s history and better prepare those sites for future natural disasters.
