Wytheville Community College to offer around-the-clock mental health services for students

WYTHEVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Students at Wytheville Community College (WCC), as well as other Virginia Community Colleges, now have free and immediate access to mental health support through a leading telehealth company specializing in higher education.

TimelyMD developed its proprietary TimelyCare technology to offer students a 24/7 extension of campus health and counseling center resources.

Through the TimelyCare app, students can now select from a wide range of menu options for virtual care from licensed physicians and counselors in all 50 states at no cost and without the hassle of traditional insurance which includes:

  • On-demand mental health support (TalkNow)
  • Appointment-based mental health counseling (scheduled counseling – starting Jan. 3, 2022)
  • Psychiatric support (starting Jan. 3, 2022)
  • Health coaching (starting Jan. 3, 2022)

Faculty and staff also have access to support that empowers them to help students achieve a sense of well-being, live healthier, lifestyles and improve their mental health.

The TimelyCare app allows students to see profiles, faces and specialty care details of a diverse range of licensed physicians and counselors available.

They can choose to meet with a specific provider or select the first one available.

Consultations typically begin within 5-10 minutes.
