The WCC Bookstore, located in Bland Hall, will also have hours of operation posted.
The office of Instructional Advancement, which processes scholarship applications, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Smyth Hall, as well as the Learning Resource Center (formerly the WCC Library) for students.
Workforce Development Services, located in Grayson Hall, will also be open between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
WCC locations at the Crossroads Institute in Galax and at the Summit Center in Marion will open starting on June 7 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Those wishing to access WCC services at Crossroads will need to check in at the entrance to the building.
Measures will continue to be in place to ensure the health and safety of all students, faculty, and staff.
Buildings will be open with established waiting areas that ensure that social distancing guidance can be achieved.
The offices will be opened with limited staffing. Summer classes will continue to be offered online with the exception of Health, Occupational, and Workforce programs that have already been offered in-person and will be following CDC and VDH guidance regarding social distancing and masks.
Starting on Aug. 1, WCC will bring back the majority of its staff back from teleworking to normal office operations.
Many of the classes held in the fall will begin to transition to more in-person class offerings, with many being offered as a “hyflex” operation that allows students to attend class partially in-person and partially by remote access.
Hyflex classes are offered much like traditional in-person classes with the addition of cameras in the classroom to allow students to connect to the live lecture virtually or to watch the recorded lecture on their time.
