ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – On Tuesday night, the Roanoke City School Board will be discussing the opportunity to purchase the Roanoke Times building located downtown.
According to the agenda, the building would be purchased at a cost of $5.8 million.
If the district buys the building, they could consolidate administrative and maintenance operations downtown
It would free up space for a community empowerment center, as well as a new technical school to be established in the northwestern part of the city.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11.
