ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR Staff) Roanoke Fire EMS evacuated the Cotton Mill Lofts Monday night, after receiving a call for an unusual odor.
When Fire EMS arrived on the scene their meters indicated unhealthy air quality in the building.
Everyone was evacuated until the investigation could be completed.
Upon completion, Fire EMS confirm the source was most likely a drain cleaner used by a resident and inadvertently mixed with other substances in the sewer pipes.
The building was aired out and restored to a healthy environment.
No injuries were reported.
