Distracted driving possible factor in pedestrian crash

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Two teenage boys are in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after they were hit by a car on Route 29 Tuesday afternoon.

Virginia State Police says the boys were walking on the side of the road when a car traveling north ran off the side of the road. Troopers say the 14 and 15-year-old boys were not in the road when they were hit.

The driver stayed with the boys until rescue crews arrived.

Distracted driving is considered a factor in this crash, charges have not been filed at this time.
