Democratic Debate: Round two in Roanoke

News

The second round of the Democratic Presidential Debate happened Thursday night in Miami. Stand out candidates Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris squared off.

It was a packed stage, with most Americans saying they can’t keep track of all of the Democrats in the pack hoping to take on President Donald Trump in 2020.

Local members of the Roanoke City Democratic Committee held a watch party at the Food Fanatics Kitchen. One member, Chris Fury said it was more about coming together as a party than rooting for one candidate.

“To make sure that folks know that you can support Pete, you can support Bernie Sanders, you can support Elizabeth Warren. And altogether, in the end, we’re going to come together and support whoever the candidate is. So part of this is just having fun and learning together and just building that sense of community,” said Fury.

Fury says he enjoyed watching the debates and hearing what the candidates had to say.
