DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – Brenda Preston was in the process of scratching a Jewel 7s ticket from the Virginia Lottery when she quickly realized she won the game’s top prize…$200,000.

She purchased the ticket at the Corner Market at 12288 Martinsville Highway in Danville. She went to the store to redeem another winning ticket when she decided to use the winnings from that ticket to to buy another which she scratched right in the store.

Prizes from the $5 Jewel 7s scratcher range between $5 and $200,000. Odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 734,400.

Brenda is the third person to win the top prize in that game. Seven $200,000 tickets remain unclaimed.
