DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR) – On Monday Sept. 18, the U.S. Department of Justice in the Western District of Virginia announced two men were indicted indictment in August charging two men with robbing a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) in 2022 on Monday.

The two men, Bradley Wayne McCraw of Gaffney, South Carolina and Justin Darrell Whitaker of Cleveland County, North Carolina, are each charged with one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one count of knowingly and intentionally stealing firearms from FFL, and one count of possession of stolen firearms.

The District Attorney says McCraw and Whitaker allegedly broke into the Rabbit Ridge Gun Shop in Ararat, a small community in Patrick County, during the early morning hours of September 22, 2022. They stole at least 13 firearms from the business’ inventory.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating the case with assistance from the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Offices in Cherokee County, South Carolina, Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Cleveland County have also assisted with the investigation.
