ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — A Roanoke woman is facing arson charges connected with an incident that happened Sunday morning, according to the Roanoke Fire Marshal’s office.

Roanoke Fire-EMS says units responded to the 800 block of Rutherford Avenue NW for a vehicle fire on Sunday, June 12 at 12:20 a.m. When crews arrived, they quickly extinguished the fire.

Crews say an investigation determined the fire was set intentionally. Later, the fire marshal’s office determined that 48-year-old Michelle D. Sellers of Roanoke was behind the incident.

On Monday, June 13, fire officials say Sellers was charged with arson of a motor vehicle and brought to the Roanoke City Jail.
