Vinton Police looking for person connected with shooting that left one man hurt


VINTON, Va. (WFXR) — The Vinton Police Department is looking for the person responsible for shooting and injuring a man Tuesday afternoon.

The department says officers responded to a malicious wounding call in the 200 block of 8th Street in Vinton at 1:54 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28.

When police arrived, they found a man with what appeared to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Police say the man was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Authorities say no arrests have been made, but the suspect vehicle — a small red sedan — drove off before officers arrived at the scene.
