Two people face 81 charges in connection with car break-ins and thefts in Salem

SALEM, Va. (WFXR) — The Salem Police Department arrested two people in connection to a string of car break-ins and thefts throughout the city.

Police say they received several calls of items being stolen from cars and trucks in neighborhoods between Nov. 8 and 13. During an investigation, police were able to locate the two individuals — 21-year-old Ryan A. Fletcher-Waldron of Roanoke and 20-year-old Courtney J. Ferguson of Roanoke.

Waldron faces 40 charges for petit larceny, grand larceny, theft of a firearm, property damage, and unlawful entry into a vehicle. Ferguson faces 41 counts for petit larceny, grand larceny, theft of a firearm, property damage, and unlawful entry into a vehicle. Together they face 81 charges.

Police tell WFXR News that 19 victims were identified and this case still remains under investigation. Police want to remind people to keep their vehicles locked when they are not occupied.
